DC's longest continuously published comic. First issue featured Superman and except for a brief hiatus when the series was titled Action Comics Weekly, he has appeared in nearly every issue. In addition to Superman, various other characters have been featured in secondary stories, including Supergirl, Congo Bill, Green Arrow, and Hawkman. Starting in 1987, Superman stories appeared in Action Comics and simultaneously in Superman (1987 series), Superman: The Man of Steel, and Superman: The Man of Tomorrow.
